Is Casa Elana in a quiet part of the village?
The simple answer is no. It's not in the really busy parts of the village, but likewise, it's not high up in the residential only parts where the most you'll hear are muffled voices, dogs barking and pop-pop motorbikes passing by.
Casa Elana is opposite the Plaza De La Concordia, an area that used to be the beating heart of the village before the much bigger (and louder) new square came about.
But the area around the plaza is not a ghost town. It's still very much a thriving and buzzing part of the village where daily Spanish life is right on your doorstep.
Open your windows (sometimes there is no need to open them!) and you will hear life all around you, until siesta time, when it falls quiet, like everywhere in Spain. But come early evening, the buzz returns.
Some evenings the older folk will gather in the plaza for a chit-chat, often staying there until 10pm. There will also be patrons of the Pizzeria Kiosko, the little cafe bar in the plaza, although it generally closes around 7pm. And then you'll have people coming and going and chatting while they do it. Remember: Spanish life is NEVER quiet!
So if you are looking for total peace, where you can feel like you are the only person in the world, then Casa Elana is not for you. But if you want to experience authentic Spanish life, with all the hustle and bustle that goes with it. You'll love it!
